About This Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team at CV-Library in Bristol. As a key member of the payroll function, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing each month.

The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience and excellent knowledge of PAYE legislation and HMRC requirements. You will be responsible for managing payroll data, resolving discrepancies, and providing payroll support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Provide accurate and timely processing of monthly payrolls for employees.
  • Payroll Data Management: Manage payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
  • New Starters/Leavers: Process new starters and leavers data in line with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Payroll Queries: Respond to payroll queries from employees and external stakeholders.
  • Statutory Deductions: Administration of all statutory deductions including SMP, SPP, SSP, PAYE, NI.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments and support HR/Payroll-related projects.
  • Absences & Holiday Entitlement: Process payroll data regarding sickness, absences & holiday entitlement.
  • Liaison: Liaise with external agencies as appropriate (HMRC, AOE requests).
  • Pension & Auto-Enrolment: Administration of the Pension and auto/contractual enrolment obligations.
  • Finance Team Support: Work closely with the Finance team with ad hoc requirements and requests for information and reports.
  • Employee Guidance: Offer employees guidance in relation to all payroll matters.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Have a qualification in payroll management (CIPP) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Payroll Trends: Familiarity with payroll trends and good practice.
  • PAYE Legislation: Knowledge of PAYE legislation and HMRC requirements.
  • Outsourced Payroll Model: Experience of working within an outsourced payroll model.
  • Data Protection: Excellent understanding of data protection and GDPR regulations.
  • Statistics & Data Analysis: Knowledge of statistics and data collection/analysis techniques and principles.
  • Report Running: Experienced in running reports and checking for variances in payroll.
