**The role in a nutshell**

A fantastic opportunity to join a unique, fast paced and growing business in the hospitality industry. Based out of Bristol, this role will take accountability for a high performing payroll team, ensuring seamless and accurate payroll execution each and every period, with excellent communication and a continuous desire to improve the service and support. In addition, this role will take responsibility for a broad range of people services including systems; policies; reporting and employee lifecycle comms (e.g. contracts). This role will suit a Head of Payroll, or Head of Shared Services with payroll experience.

**Getting into the detail**

**Payroll**
- Project manage the monthly and 4-weekly payrolls, ensuring that these are completed with plenty of time prior to cut-off times, without additional hours and the team being put under undue pressure.
- Reviewing and analyzing the payrolls using excel models to pick up and correct errors - challenging the team and business where required.
- Perform weekly rota checks for errors and correcting as necessary including a frequent check to ensure we’re compliant with all required legislative requirements (e.g. National Living/Minimum Wage).
- Research and advising the business on any changes to legislation (payroll or otherwise). Include the pro’s; con’s; commercials and how changes could be implements.
- Work closely with ops/ROMs/OD and HQ stakeholders to be part of key decisions such as changes to payroll policies (holiday pay).
- Regularly seek out feedback to look to improve the service to stakeholders. This may include payroll reports, system functionality. Genuinely seek to build excellent relationships with our site and field-based teams to understand how to make their roles easier, and how they work.
- Develop, coach and lead a team a payroll team that cares about providing excellent service and standards. Oversee the priorities of the team to make sure that workload peaks (e.g. payroll weeks) are never left short staffed.
- Work together with finance to ensure effective ways of working around all payroll and reward items (e.g. approving BACS files; payment of bonuses; project managing pay review change processes).
- Responsibility for annual GPGR, alongside the Finance Director
- Help management accounts maintain the Balance sheet recs for all payroll-related lines (PAYE, Net Wages, Employee loans, Pensions etc.)
- Maintaining Loungers HMRC online account, making sure our EPS and FPS submissions are correct, dealing with HMRC where necessary to ensure that tax payments are correctly allocated.

**People Shared Services**
- The smooth and efficient delivery of the People Services covering payroll; systems; employee administration; policies and processes, insight reporting.
- Driving a solution and service culture within People Operations, looking for opportunities to really engage and support our ROMs, Operations, and site-based teams with how to make their life simpler and how to make our processes more effective each period.
- Effective onboarding/offboarding of all team members with clear SOPs in place e.g. keeping contracts up to date, ensuring P45s sent on time.
- Lead on all HR systems (ownership of the existing payroll, scheduling, and HR administration modules), supporting the onboarding of any new HR technology and the successful integration to existing platforms.
- Responsible to produce all People-related data, working closely with the Head of People Experience to and Finance to correlate quantitative data to qualitative data to develop insight.
- Keep really connected to our site teams to make decisions in the best interests of stakeholders and have a continuous improvement approach to comms and processes.
- Be an excellent verbal and written communicator - own all communications from the department making sure that actions are clear, reports are easy to navigate, and that feedback is acted upon.
- Own and update all policy documents including the employee handbook, overtime policy, tronc etc. Ensure these are easily accessible and communicated.

**Reward**
- Alongside the CPO support the employee benefits and reward manager
- ensuring that pay review, shares, bonus processes are delivered on time.
