**About us**
You will be joining a busy and supportive HR Business Partnership team to help provide HR administrative support to respond all aspects of council services. You will need to have a flexible and positive approach to help meet the needs of the team and help contribute towards the delivery of high-quality HR service across the council.

**About the role**
Working Hours

25 per week at National Living wage (5 hours each day, Monday to Friday)

Hours of work -. 9am to 2pm each day with opportunities for flexible working.

Location - Hybrid working with set days in office space at Civic Offices, Holton Road Barry.

Contract - Temporary (6 months)

This is an opportunity for a person to gain an insight into working in a busy HR team. There will be one direct officer to provide support however the individual will work across the team helping and supporting all members.

This will take the form of observing meetings initially, learning how to take minutes, notes which will be followed up in letters and drafting letters inviting staff to meetings.

The role will involve a range of administrative tasks, providing day to day support to the team and help contribute towards the delivery of high-quality HR service across the council.

Electronic filing, maintaining spreadsheets and HR records to ensure they are accurate and kept up to date.

Using excel spreadsheets the individual will learn to analyse data and present information in a format which can be easily understand.

Contact past employees and collate responses to gather into meaningful feedback.

Review absence reports to identify required meetings in line with absence policies.

Liaising with other departments within the HR team including Occupational Health to help facilitate and respond to queries from the team.

**About you**
We are looking for someone who is proactive, has good digital skills and time management. The individual should be able to adapt and be flexible in their approach to work as well as having good attention to detail.

As we are looking to provide training and experience we are looking more at the soft skills than academic qualifications and therefore a positive working culture is essential.

The individual will be supported to develop their professional skills in a wide-ranging role, have opportunities to learn about the Council and obtain valuable work experience
