**Reed are delighted to be working with a fantastic client situated in Newcastle City Centre. They are looking for an Interim Director of Communications and sales.**

The Director of Communications is responsible for the creation and delivery of a long-term communications and sales strategy in support of the clients mission, vision and business plan.You will set key aims, objectives and outputs for the department, anddevise and implement sustainable strategic marketing and customer focussed campaigns.

The Director of Communications plays a key role in the strategic leadership of the organisation, working closely with Executive Director.

**Key responsibilities**:

- To work with the Artistic and Executive Director to develop a clear and innovative strategy for communications and sales that delivers to our vision, mission and values and is fully integrated into our artistic programme
- To keep up to date with changes in local, national and international thinking on marketing, communications and sales, to ensure that the company strategy is in line with current thinking and key local and national government priorities
- To provide clear leadership, management and development to the permanent and freelance staff in the department
- To set ambitious targets for audience numbers and box office income, in collaboration with the Producer
- To lead the strategic and creative development of effective Audience Development strategies and annual communications plans
- To lead and support the Senior Communications Manager to develop and deliver effective seasonal and individual show campaigns
- To lead the strategic and creative development of the Digital Plan, and monitor its effective implementation
- To work with the Director of Participation, Producer and Development Associate to devise and implement a comprehensive strategy to promote the company’s participation and talent development programmes to funders and potential donors
- To devise and implement an effective and robust system of evaluation and monitoring across the organisation in relation to communications, sales and audience development, working closely with the Director of Participation to set best practice standardsfor work with communities experiencing economic, social or educational disadvantage.
- To work with the Executive Director and Director of Finance in setting multi-year budgets and targets for Communications and Sales, and to ensure accurate management of all budgets within agreed finance and accountancy procedures
- To prepare and deliver reports for the Board as required
