Therapeutic Counselling Services is an organisation dedicated to supporting mental health, emotional wellbeing and psychological resilience.

**The role**

We are seeking to appoint a counsellor on a 9-month fix term contract to work within a psychological wellbeing team in the Chepstow area, providing evidence-based treatments for young people & adults with psychological and emotional issues. This will mainly involve individual clinical work but may include involvement in the provision of group interventions.

**Responsibilities**
- Deliver a range of therapeutic interventions (counselling, groupwork, psychoeducation, psychological coaching) to support the psychological wellbeing of clients.
- Maintain a daily record of appointment attendance using TCS systems (ACT).
- Maintain a daily record of Clinical Notes using the TCS systems (Sincharta).
- Support all therapeutic work using the TCS required measures (e.g., CORE, Exchange-Resilience Measures [ERM]).
- Complete discharge forms required by the contract
- Attend Manager meetings and Team meetings.
- Prepare, complete forms and attend review meetings as organised by manager.
- Have consultation with a member of the Safeguarding team and take guidance prior to making a disclosure of information gained in a confidential counselling session.
- Be willing to promote psychological wellbeing and the supportive services of TCS to your clients.
- Carry out service user assessment, complete screening paperwork appropriately.
- Work in collaborative partnership with Client Support Team, Operations Manager, Colleagues and Managers.
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with external agencies under manager guidance.
- Attend in-house CPD events when requested by your manager.
- Attend all in-house policy update sessions.
- Attend Clinical Supervision and take responsibility for re-arranging supervision if you have to cancel or re-arrange.
- Follow TCS procedures for reporting all absences from work.
- Accept reasonable requests to accommodate additional responsibilities in response to unforeseen events.

Essential Training & Qualifications
- Counselling qualification at Diploma level (or equivalent level) which is recognised by BACP, COSCA or an equivalent body
- Diploma level (or equivalent) qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, or counselling-psychology which has been accredited by a recognised professional body (BACP, BPS, UKCP or similar)
- Member of BACP or equivalent.
- Hold or be working towards BACP accreditation as a counsellor.

Other
- An enhanced CRB disclosure will be compulsory.

Essential

Driving licence, you will be required to travel to other locations

The post-holder must:

- Be able to cope with unpleasant behaviour including verbal aggression and occasionally to work in conditions sub-optimal for clinical activity.

Terms & conditions
- 9-month fix term contract
- The successful applicant will be required to work 5 days a week however we are open to discussion for applicants that are looking for part time hours, we would require a minimum of 3 days.
- Salary would be £30,076, FTE, salary will be pro rata for part time, based on number of days worked per week.
