At Everybody Active, we are a passionate team who sincerely care about making a difference to the lives of young people. With over 20 years experience of working with children and young people, supporting them to achieve their aspirations.

We work closely with each individual helping them to shape their journey through accessing a variety of interventions and activities to help them overcome any barriers they may face. We work in collaboration with schools, education providers and agencies to ensure the needs of the young person are met.

- Experience of working with vulnerable children young people, background in sports/activity coaching, mentoring or youth work.
- Experience of managing challenging behaviour.
- Level 2 or above in one of the following or equivalent - Sport and Physical Activity, Youth Work, Mental Health First Aid.
- Team teach level 1/2, Safegaurding, first aid and enhanced DBS.

**Key Information**

Position - Lead Physical Activty & Education Mentor

Mon - Fri**, **30hours per week

Job type - 3-6month post, with possibility for extension.

Location - Newport, South Wales

Reports to - Director of Operations
- Key interface with_ - Key Agencies such as Social Services, Youth Justice Service, Local Authorities, Sport and Leisure Facilities, Education Consortia, Local Health Boards.

**Main Duties**
- To provide 2:1 (staff to young person ratio) support for a venerable young person, supporting participation in sport and physical activity, education and developing independent living skills.
- Providing dedicated behaviour support to young people.
- Supporting and educating on how to manage their behaviour, emotions, and frustrations.
- Supporting in developing self-confidence and social interaction skills.
- Encouraging the young person to take pride in their achievements.
- To support the health and wellbeing of the young person, which will include...achieving daily activity goals, support in delivering/taking part in wellbeing activities, support daily/weekly routine.
- To support tutors/education placements, which will include...delivery basic numeracy/literacy session, online learning, deliver CV building session, supporting, and transporting to volunteer placements.
- To complete daily review and reporting of work undertaken and progress against agreed milestones. To capture impact of activities on a quarterly basis
- To act as designated safeguarding lead and to be the main point of contact liaising directly withsupporting agencies, family, and key partners working with this young person
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with both the young person, other Everybody Active colleagues and supporting organisations and agencies.
- To develop and delivering a weekly timetable with young person of physical activity and wellbeing sessions based on the needs of the young person. This will be person centred and incorporate a number of key objectives such as: Attending education, regular sports and physical activity sessions.
- To identify, develop and maintain effective relationships with partners and external stakeholders who share a passion for improving physical activity.
- To provide support to develop the individual’s confidence and communications skills.
- Support the development of an organisation wide insight tool to help evaluate impact

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3-6 months

**Salary**: £85.00-£105.00 per day
