Aaina Community Hub has been delivering services for women in Walsall since 1997, we are a specialist organisation providing gender and culturally sensitive services for women from ethnic minority communities. We pride ourselves on providing a caring, compassionate and safe space for service users where they will receive the necessary support that addresses their issues.

**Main Duties**

The area of responsibility will be health and wellbeing and supporting survivors of Domestic Abuse. The Officer will be responsible for co ordinating, facilitating and overseeing sessional staff to deliver wellbeing initiatives for women of all ages and backgrounds who experience exclusion and isolation from mainstream provision. They will develop stimulating and informative activities to reduce isolation, deliver empowerment workshops and support survivors. The Officer will work in partnership with local stakeholders, attend meetings and organise awareness sessions. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for undertaking risk assessments, evaluations and completing monitoring paperwork. A creative flair and empathy for women’s welfare are essential for this position.

**PRINCIPAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Organise and deliver a weekly broad-based programme of health and wellbeing activities and sessions for women with a small group of sessional staff and volunteers, providing support and guidance where needed.
- Co-ordinate community-based activities for women that encourage participation, improve social inclusion and friendships and lead to empowerment.
- Provide one to one support to survivors of Domestic Abuse
- Facilitate empowerment workshops
- Organise awareness sessions that encourage access to local opportunities
- Oversee weekly cycling sessions for women to promote exercise and wellbeing
- Organise walk and talk sessions in the community
- Organise Menopause awareness sessions
- Support volunteers and organize social networking opportunities.
- Organise trips and outings for women that promote wellbeing in consultation with service users
- Ensure the successful delivery of the agreed project outcomes, including the incorporation of monitoring and evaluation of all project activities.
- Liaise with Local GP’s, NHS Staff and Voluntary Organisation’s to develop effective referrals systems and attend relevant stakeholder meetings
- Develop publicity, recruitment and resource materials. Including publicising the project in the community.
- Work in partnership with stakeholders to organize health awareness sessions around diabetes, dementia, heart disease, stroke and so on that impact women.
- Organise and facilitate monitoring and evaluation activities ensuring project outputs and targets are achieved and measuring impact
- Responsible for risk assessments and completing registration, beneficiary forms
- You will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, report writing and organisational skills.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for referrals, records, monitoring and statistical returns and ensure compliance with Data Protection and Confidentiality requirements.

**Other Duties**
- Work alongside other staff to contribute to the development of Aaina Community Hub as a whole.
- Ensure Aaina policies and best practices are adhered to, including health and safety, equal opportunities and customer care at all times.

**Miscellaneous**

Undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as from time to time may be required, in consultation with the line manager.

Work and attend evening and weekend events and meetings as related to the duties of the post as agreed with the CEO.

**Essential Requirements**
- Over one year's experience in project delivery and supporting volunteers.
- Minimum qualifications A'levels, BTEC level 3, Bachelors degree in Social Work, Humanities,

Psychology, Health and Social Care etc advantageous
- Experience of working with women especially from hard to reach communities.
- Experience in delivering initiatives for women with multiple needs.
- This post requires an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure.
- Ability to speak Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, or Sylheti advantageous.

**Salary**: £24,336.00-£28,080.00 per year
