Band 3 Progress Chaser - Emergency Department

We are seeking to recruit a Band 3 Progress Chaser to work within Walsall Healthcares Emergency Department (ED). It is an exciting opportunity to work within a team that is developing their service and we hope your enthusiastic contribution to the team will support us to expand and improve further. The post holder will support the ED shift co-ordinator in a progress chaser function with monitoring of the ED whiteboard / monitoring of potential four hour breaches and liaising with the capacity team.

The post holder will also support the ED team in the delivery of service targets & key performance indicators. Pro-actively tracking patients, alerting team members where results are ready, reducing unnecessary delays.

Monitoring & updating of ED Whiteboard & Fusion systems, including chasing patient management plans & results, and participating in departmental board rounds.
Inform relevant clinicians when pathology & imaging results are available to reduce unnecessary delays.
Proactively track and escalate potential delays to NIC/Shift co-ordinator & Duty Consultant.

The Emergency Department has recently been awarded a £36m investment to develop a state of the art new ED. The applicant will have the opportunity to work within this team to provide solutions to new innovative ways of working and support moving the service forward with the Emergency Care Team.

As an Emergency Department we are committed to provide high quality care within a demanding service by ensuring our team are proactive and have additional clinical skills to provide individualised patient care for the whole range of presenting conditions.

You must demonstrate excellent communicate skills, initiative, drive and a willingness to learn to expand your knowledge and skills. You must also have clerical experience as well as experience working within a hospital setting and using patient management systems.
