Applicants should note that DBS has recently undertaken a review of its operational locations in the North West, and will consolidate all activities in Blackpool. This means that DBS staff will move from both Walker House (Liverpool) and Cheadle Hulme in the late Summer of 2023 and initially relocate to Tomlinson House (Norcross). A further move, to the new Government Hub at Talbot Gateway in Blackpool, is scheduled to take place in 2026.

As a result, all vacant DBS posts in the North West will be advertised at Tomlinson House (Norcross). There is, however, an expectation that all DBS staff, irrespective of their agreed duty station, will travel to other DBS and/or MOD site(s), as required, to complete all necessary training and to participate in team or additional collaborative activities - detached duty terms may apply. Terms of transfer have been negotiated for DBS posts relocating in the North West. DBS also supports Flexible Working, which can be discussed in more detail at interview.

**Job description**:
Deal with all aspects of WINDOWs work arising within DBS systems with a focus on Finance (CP&F) system, to provide infrastructure support and guidance in accordance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs). Work to Windows Lead.

**Role Specific Accountabilities**
- Act as a lead for all CP&F issues, maintain CP&F platform
- Ensure services are accepted into the Windows infrastructure
- Support/maintenance of Windows services, ensuring that service levels meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs)
- Ensure “live” Windows environments are fully operational on a day-to-day basis and that they are meeting the agreed expectations of the end users
- Ensure all Windows infrastructure operations are stable and act as a point of escalation when necessary

- Work with the service operations staff to ensure that cross DBS incidents are managed in a timely and coherent manner
- Monitor live service availability against agreed SLAs and review availability trends to support proactive improvement plans for the Windows infrastructure
- Support continuous improvement activities and standard working practices across the Windows technical support function
- Monitor, measure and review performance of services and components in the Windows infrastructure and ensure capacity meets the needs of DBS
- A strong working knowledge of VM Ware and how it fits within Windows Infrastructure based systems.
- A strong working knowledge of Exchange and must be able to configure and maintain all Exchange related systems. This will soon be migrating to utilise Mail-Enable and some familiarity with the product would prove useful, howev
