Applicants should note that DBS has recently undertaken a review of its operational locations in the North West, and will consolidate all activities in Blackpool. This means that DBS staff will move from both Walker House (Liverpool) and Cheadle Hulme in the late Summer of 2023 and initially relocate to Tomlinson House (Norcross). A further move, to the new Government Hub at Talbot Gateway in Blackpool, is scheduled to take place in 2026.

As a result, all vacant DBS posts in the North West will be advertised at Tomlinson House (Norcross). There is, however, an expectation that all DBS staff, irrespective of their agreed duty station, will travel to other DBS and/or MOD site(s), as required, to complete all necessary training and to participate in team or additional collaborative activities - detached duty terms may apply. Terms of transfer have been negotiated for DBS posts relocating in the North West. DBS also supports Flexible Working, which can be discussed in more detail at interview.

**Job description**:
The DBS Complaints Officer plays a key role in the coordination of the complaints process across DBS. They ensure an effective and efficient process, meeting key performance targets and providing key stakeholders with analytical, insight, and complaint data which will help them to identify issues in their areas of work and develop initiatives to address issues, improving customer service.

**Responsibilities**:
**DBS Complaints Process**

1. Coordinating the effective delivery of the complaint process to meet our ambitious KPI target of responding to 95% of complaints in 5 days in line with the performance metrics.
2. Ensuring that complaints have been correctly categorised and recorded and assign them to the most appropriate business area.
3. Developing a relationship with all stakeholders involved in complaint resolution, offering advice and guidance where necessary.
4. Providing an independent and objective quality assurance role regarding the responses to complainant issues and giving due cognisance to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
5. Highlighting any performance issues or blockages in the effective management of and efficient delivery of customer service to the Complaints Lead.
6. Reporting any promises made by DBS to the Complaints Lead to log.

**Continuous Improvement**

1. Producing monthly analytical complaint data and interpretation of data identifying and raising trends and issues to assist in the delivery of customer focused improvements across DBS.
