Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Freight Coordinator dealing with both Export / Imports. The company are a Freight Forwarder based in the Slough, Berkshire area.

**Job description**
- Dealing with UK/overseas agents to manage bookings for road/sea/air.
- Proven experience in logistics, freight operations, or related field is preferred.
- Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, considering the nature of goods, cost, transit time and security.
- Receiving and checking documentation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Contacting importers/exporters to establish their clearance/delivery requirements.
- Liaising with all parties to ensure customs documentation is completed both foreign and domestic.
- Providing customers with quotations and following up on enquiries.
- Manage and negotiating freight rates, transportation and handling costs.
- Providing assistance to the sales team by organising sales materials, tracking leads and updating the customers.
- Making sure all requirements and deadlines for each shipment are met
- Taking ownership for escalations from the clients, EU gateways and our European partners ensuring that issues are concluded and communicated accordingly.
- Invoicing on a daily basis
- Actively create new sales pipelines and manage existing customer accounts.
- Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
- Flexibility to work occasional extended hours or weekends, especially during peak shipping periods.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year

Flexible Language Requirement:

- English not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Slough: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Export / Import freight: 2 years (required)
