Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable Freight Forwarding Imports Clerk, primarily focused on sea freight imports, with occasional responsibilities in air freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:
The role involves managing all imported goods entering the destination country, overseeing the entire transportation process via ocean and some air freight. You will ensure that all required documentation is accurate and compliant with Customs regulations for clearance and entry.

  • Gather charges and cargo release information from agents, airlines, and shipping companies.
  • Facilitate customs clearance processes.
  • Ensure timely payments are made prior to shipment as necessary.
  • Process payments and generate relevant documentation.
  • Coordinate the release and transport of goods to importers.
  • Engage daily with agents, partners, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless operations.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in sea freight imports.
  • Strong negotiation skills for terms and rates, with a numerical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and systems relevant to the role.
  • Prior experience in an air/sea import team, including booking deliveries, liaising with carriers, negotiating rates, and preparing shipping documentation.

Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £25,000 to £30,000, based on experience, along with:

  • Standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
