Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Imports Clerk with a focus on sea freight operations, complemented by some air freight responsibilities. This role is essential in managing the logistics of imported goods, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and facilitating the transportation process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather charges and cargo release information from shipping lines, airlines, and agents.
  • Execute customs clearance processes efficiently.
  • Ensure timely payments are made prior to shipment as required.
  • Handle all payment processing and necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate the release and transport of goods to importers.
  • Maintain daily communication with agents, partners, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless operations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in sea freight imports is essential.
  • Strong negotiation skills and numerical proficiency are required.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and systems is necessary.
  • Previous experience in an air/sea import team, including booking deliveries and raising shipping documents, is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ranging from £25,000 to £30,000 based on experience.
  • Generous holiday allowance of 25 days.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Performance-based bonus.
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
