Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Imports Clerk focused on sea freight operations, with some involvement in air freight, based in Slough.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of the Imports Clerk encompasses the management of all imported goods arriving in the destination country. This includes coordinating and overseeing the transportation process via ocean and air, while ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and compliant with Customs regulations for clearance and entry.
- Gather charges and cargo release information from agents, airlines, and shipping companies.
- Process customs clearances efficiently.
- Ensure timely payments are made prior to shipment as required.
- Handle all payment processing and generate necessary documentation.
- Coordinate the release and transportation of goods to importers.
- Maintain daily communication with agents, partners, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth operations.
Candidate Profile:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- Experience in sea freight imports.
- Strong negotiation skills for terms and rates, along with numerical proficiency.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software and systems relevant to the role.
- Prior experience in an air/sea import team, including booking deliveries, liaising with carriers, negotiating rates, and preparing shipping documentation.
Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £25,000 to £30,000, depending on experience, along with:
- 25 days of annual leave.

- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
