**HR Operations Lead**

**Salary**: £50,702
**Contract Type**: 1 X Fixed Term (12 months) and 1 x Open Ended role available
**Based at**: Any UKRI office

**About the role**

The HR Operations team provide high quality advice and support to people managers and employees on day-to-day HR queries, key HR processes, UKRI policies and employee relations cases as they arise.

You will provide expert advice on Employee Relations, HR queries and ER casework across UKRI.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Working with the HR Operations Lead for Employee Relations to establish good practice methodologies for all types of case work providing coaching and support to ensure that cases are consistently and appropriately managed
- Ensuring up to date, clear and consistent information on HR policies and processes and answers to routine questions is available
- Lead on the more complex casework, working with managers to conduct investigations and lead (and coach) them through processes that carry more risk
- Work with the HR Operations senior team to oversee the whole casework portfolio, and identify risks, themes, and interventions required.
- Liaise with HR Policy team where guidance needs improving or updating and liaise with HRBPs and Centres of Expertise (CoE) to identify opportunities to reduce or prevent further cases arising
- Create and deliver workshops and local training initiatives to support the lifecycle of HR business
- Initiate and lead the governance and delivery of specific HR projects and initiatives in conjunction with HRBPs, CoE leads and the SHARP Programme team
- Develop effective relationships with leaders and managers in business areas and with HR colleagues in order to share best practice and drive service improvements.
- Line manage a team of HR Operations staff

**You'll need to be able to demonstrate the following**:

- University degree in HR or equivalent relevant professional experience
- CIPD membership and/or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Demonstrable experience in dealing with complex and challenging HR casework, managing the associated risks and making recommendations to managers and HR management on options for resolution
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation and skills - and experience of effecting change across a complex group of stakeholders
- Experience of leading and managing projects, and of supporting coaching others who are supporting projects
- Demonstrable experience of planning and organising service delivery in situations where there are conflicting and completing service demands
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills and experience
- Supportive of change and proactive in delivering improved outcomes for customers.
