**Reporting To**
Compliance Manager
**Role Purpose**
Reporting to the RDC Compliance Manager is responsible for the managing of the Health & Safety on a daily basis and to plan and implement improvements & changes and to ensure legal compliance and safe working practices. Work closely with all departments and employees to investigate accidents & incidents and to make recommendations to prevent re occurrence. Develop and deliver training regimes that promote safe working culture and safe working practices. Where necessary maintain communication with industrial / government bodies / legislative bodies. Promote a strong safety culture across all areas of the RDC business.
**Performance Indicators**
- Successful regulatory & certification body audits.
- The development and maintenance of policies, procedures & systems and their revision in a timely manner.
- Completed investigations with supporting documentation completely within agreed timescale.
- Investigating accidents, incidents & dangerous occurrences to the required level.
- Reduction in incident / accident rate.
- Carrying out of safety inspections & internal audits across the site on processes and legal requirements.
- Writing new & reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Positive feedback on training courses. Positive progress against personal & company objectives.
- Completed corrective & preventative actions within agreed timescales.
**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Experience in handling H&S investigations Ability to communicate to all levels of employees / external suppliers / bodies.
- Experience of formulating, implementing & revising H&S policies & procedures
- Experience in maintaining and improving the health and safety management system.
- H&S internal audit qualification / proven experience
- Training skills to meet business needs across multiple topics, using a variety of resources.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
- Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of regulations affecting the business on a day-to-day basis.
