**Job overview**:
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated **Lead Specialist Dietitian** to join our County wide community Child and Adolescent eating disorder team.

The CAMHS Eating disorders team strives to deliver high quality and effective treatment to people experiencing eating disorders, often with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. Working as a multidisciplinary team, we offer assessment and treatment for children and young people with eating disorders. Using the Maudsley model as a foundation for our work, we focus on supporting the whole family to promote the recovery and independence of the children and young people we see. We offer a range of interventions, which we are keen to develop.

We are looking for people with a background in mental health services and a relevant core profession e.g., Mental Health Nursing/Occupational Therapy/Family Therapy/Psychology, who have experience in either Child and Adolescent MH Services, Adult Mental Health or Eating Disorder Services.

You will need to have both a positive outlook and a sense of humour to accept the challenges of working across busy localities, which include seaside towns and rural locations. Knowledge of eating disorders, general mental health problems in children, and adolescents and understand the impact these have on service users and their families or carers.

You will need to have knowledge of the CPA process, legislation around mental health and The Mental Health Act.

**Main duties of the job**:
To work as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary Children and Young People's Eating Disorder Service (community).

To work as a specialist autonomous practitioner providing dietetic support and advice to patients and Health Professionals in the specialist area of Eating Disorders Dietetic Service.

To lead a small dietetic team in this service.

To lead and contribute to policy development on matters relating to service development for the Eating Disorders Dietetic Service.

To develop appropriate resources within this specialist area of dietetic practice.

To help establish Research and Development and a robust Audit review of service within this specialist area of dietetics.
