To support this, the Education and Training Team are looking to recruit to the position of Lead Practice Educator (Adult Community Services). The role will involve working with clinical teams, partner organisations, community teams and higher education institutions to ensure the development of high-quality learning environments. The post holder will work alongside other colleagues to support student placements, delivery of other programmes and ensure appropriate education is developed, delivered and evaluated in relation to specialist clinical skills.

The person we are looking for will have; a strong clinical background with recent clinical experience, excellent communication skills, ability to engage and influence at all levels, demonstrate a passion for education and act as a professional role model. We will provide appropriate support and opportunities for your continued development. This post will work across the county.

Responsibility for ensuring the provision of high quality multi-professional learning environments within CFT for all pre-registration learners. The primary purpose of the role is to co-ordinate and lead on the support, education and training given to all non-medical pre-registration learners across CFT. This includes providing specialist advice and guidance, quality assurance and development of practice placements, the development and monitoring of professional mentorship in keeping with the standards and requirements of professional regulatory bodies, the delivery of clinical skills and risk training in clinical areas across the organisation.

The role will be based within the Education and Training Department, working closely alongside an existing team responsible for service and staff development. A close working relationship with all partner Higher Education Institutes and regional Educational/Regulatory bodies is also a key requirement of the role.

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
