**Job summary**:
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is responsible for securing UK and Global prosperity by promoting and financing international trade and investment. This is an exciting time to be joining the Department as the UK seeks to secure new trade deals around the world.

The English Regions (ER) Insight and Operation Team is part of the English Regions Directorate which is the face of the Department for Business Trade across the English Regions.

This role sits within the Partnership team which seeks to encourage and support effective and efficient collaborative working throughout the English Regions to increase exports and investments.

The role will support the team on a range of both ad hoc and long-term projects, streamlining ER’s engagement with other DBT teams, other government departments (OGDs) and key external stakeholders.

**Job description**:
The post holder will play a key role in four main areas:
1) Provide the secretariat for DBT’s ministerial-led 10 Metropolitan Mayors’ meetings.

2) Coordinate devolution deal texts and implementation so we have a consistent approach across ER.

3) Coordinate English Regions’ engagement with HMTCs (HM Trade Commissioners) and Sectors to deliver on export ambition.

4) Coordinate engagement with external stakeholders including chambers, business representative organisations and commercial partners
- working with the DBT partnership team.

**Hybrid working**

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DBT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London weighting.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience of working within a complex organisation
- IT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point
- Experience of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Teams
