- **SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE**_
- A 2-year role, being involved in all aspects of the Hotel. To perform your duties as per rota, training schedules for each department to be produced. To work alongside staff and with Management learning aspects of hotel operation._
- Need a ‘hands on, can do’ attitude, smiling, friendly and approachable._

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Work in all departments according to planned rota, to learn all aspects of the departments within the hotel. Areas in which you'll need to familiarise yourself may include:

- **RECEPTION **- to learn reservations system, balancing of departments, charging of accounts, sales ledger system, to work as a staff member
- **SALES **- learn procedures, monthly planning, group planning, sales shows, rooming lists, pro forma accounts,
- **HOUSEKEEPING **- to learn procedures, room servicing, area checks, chemical handling, cleaning practises, manual handling procedures, to work as a staff member
- **KITCHEN **- to learn procedures in the kitchen, breakfast preparation and service, wash up procedures, EHO requirements
- **CAFÉ **- to learn procedures in café and work as a staff member
- **BISTRO **- to learn procedures for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, work as a staff member
- **DUTY MANAGER** - you will shadow a manager on shift and learn procedures, to work alongside a manager at functions or conferences
- **ADMINISTRATION **- you will be shown procedures and control processes for hotel

This position involves working alongside a manager or supervisor to learn the role. Sometimes you will just be working as a staff member in departments.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work for an ever-evolving and well-established hotel, based on Portland, Dorset.

Full time position. Shift work, includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
