We’re looking for a Data Protection Office Project Co-ordinator to join our IT team. This role is varied, challenging and rewarding and you’ll be joining a close knit, hardworking and friendly team who take great pride in what we do.

It’s a really exciting time to join us, technology plays a huge and important role in our work here at the Trust. Day-to-day our teams are working with modern platforms and services. It’s important for us to stay ahead of the curve, so that we can continue to meet the needs of our members and visitors, as we grow support for our charity.

Your contractual location will be our central office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. Please note this position is available as a secondment or a fixed-term position.

What it's like to work here:The Data Protection Office sits within our busy IT department.

Working collaboratively with all areas of the Trust, we focus on delivering data protection compliance advice and guidance at pace, focusing on the data protection needs of our people and supporters in line with current legislation and the guidance of the UK data regulator.

We are a supportive team and will provide training as required to help you develop your data protection knowledge and understanding.

You’ll be responsible for the rigorous logging, assignment and follow up of requests and queries related to Data Protection enquiries and Data Protection Impact Assessment administration.

You’ll also get involved in the development of data processing and data sharing agreements, legitimate interest balance tests and play a proactive role in the day-to-day support of our Assistant Data Protection Lead’s diary, meetings, and priorities.

- An interest in Data Protection assurance and a high-level understanding of the risks of non-compliance
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Flexible approach including the ability to multi-task and to successfully handle changing workloads and multiple priorities when needed
- A broad understanding of personal data processing
- People skills, enabling positive working relationships both within the team, and across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to work well both in a team and on your own initiative, balanced with the knowledge of when to flag a risk or issue that might otherwise escalate
