Our busy Data Protection Office sits within the wider IT Assurance function. Working collaboratively across all areas of the Trust and externally as needed. We provide data protection compliance advice and guidance to ensure that the Trust meets its regulatory obligations in relation to accountability, data breach reporting and risk and Individual Rights requests.

We are looking for a Data Protection Office Project Co-ordinator to assist us on a permanent basis.

We are continuously improving and securing Trust information services and take great pride in what we do. We need to ensure that everyone involved in protecting personal data and upholding individual rights across National Trust is given the very best support to deliver to the high standards that are required under current legislation. Training will be provided to help develop effective data protection knowledge as needed.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with colleagues and to carry out work.

What you'll be doing:Your project co-ordination role will provide core support across the operational aspects of the Data Protection Office with particular focus on:

- General administration and support of National Trust’s record keeping with regards our data protection responsibilities
- Shared mailbox support
- Day to day co-ordination of the Trust’s Personal Data Incident process
- Individual Rights process support
- Triaging and logging general enquiries and risks
- Administrative assistance for Assistant Data Protection Lead

You’ll escalate any concerns that you have regarding data incident reports or individual rights responses within set timeframes. You’ll play an important role in the preparation of confidential documentation related to Individual Rights requests and Incident Management cases, and the logging or updating of risks and data protection assessments within the Trust’s risk and privacy management systems.

To assist with our ongoing process improvement process you’ll be investigating ways that we can improve our administrative efficiency while maintaining or increasing our adherence to data protection legislation and current guidance.

- Ability to work in a confidential environment, protecting the rights of individuals at all times
- People skills, enabling positive working relationships both within the team, and across a wide range of internal and external colleagues
- Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proactive approach to process improvement - looking for potential efficiencies and supporting their implementation
- Willingness to learn and work with Data Protection Office related systems such as Adobe Acrobat Pro and JIRA
- Flexible approach, handling changing workloads and multiple priorities when needed
