**Tempting Recruitment are working alongside a Local Authority who are looking to recruit an experienced Revenues Officer to join their team based in the North London area.**

**Summary**
As a Revenues Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects relating to the processing of work associating with Council Tax, Business Rates and BID Levy from initial billing through to recovery and enforcement. You will also be working within a team of Revenue Officers ensuring to provide a professional and proactive customer focused service.
- To provide high-quality professional advice and guidance in the Council Tax, Business Rates or BID Levy industry to customers and external partners, including but not limited to: taxpayers, estate agents, solicitors and landlords.
- Making decisions and implementing the correct form of recovery action towards customers who haven't successfully made payment when demanded with accordance with local procedures, policies and primary/secondary legislation.
- Assisting in the review of discounts and exemptions ensuring eligibility to any potential reliefs and making sure they are awarded to those promptly, while also identifying and reducing cases of fraud.
- Accurately calculate refunds where overpayments have been made, and identify and prepare reports for cases eligible for write-offs.
- Have in depth knowledge and keep up to date on relevant legislations with the ability to follow guidelines that ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Have excellent levels of literacy and mathematics and a professional qualification in relating fields (e.g. Public Administration) with experience using electronic document management systems.
- Have the ability to cope with assisting customers who are facing a high degree of personal and financial stress.
- Have an excellent understanding of confidential information and the ability to work with it, while using logical and clear thinking to assess challenges and solve problems, with the ability to clearly articulate, both verbally and in writing, complex decisions.
