Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom Crossways Community Full time

Are you a confident communicator with strong administration skills?

Would you describe yourself as organised, supportive and able to effectively prioritise?

Would you like to work for an organisation whose employees consistently report feeling happy, valued and encouraged?

**What does the role involve?**

Working closely with our Head of Finance & Operations (HFO), at our Admin Building in central Tunbridge Wells, this role is an integral part of the service that Crossways provides. You will interact with all areas of the organisation providing day to day operational support, and assisting in the delivery of strategic objectives.

Crossways’ locations provide a safe and nurturing residential environment for people who have, or are recovering from mental health issues. Each location has a specialist team of Support Workers, who work closely with the residents in their care to maximise their quality of life and help them develop the skills they require to live as independently as possible.

This role has a key part to play in that journey, by ensuring that every area of the organisation has what it needs to operate effectively.

Core functions:

- Proactively support the HFO with a mixture of ad hoc and regular operational tasks. Working flexibly, cooperatively and with initiative, ensuring task prioritisation and progression is clearly and regularly communicated to the right people.
- Vehicle management - Insurance cover/renewals/claims, breakdown cover, servicing, tax, employee licence checks.
- Property management - Insurance cover/renewals/claims, resident rents, tenancy agreements, utilities, compliance checks, housing benefit requirements/queries.
- Digital management - IT support contact, website updating, social media output.
- Project management - Crossways’ events, current and new Crossways’ community projects.

**Who Do We Need?**

We are looking for someone to work either 30 or 37.5 hours per week (four or five days), Monday to Friday.

A full driving licence is essential, as you will need to be able to easily move between our different Tunbridge Wells locations (company vehicles available).

You must have excellent written English and verbal communication skills, and be a competent user of I.T. equipment and software packages (MS Office as a minimum). Ideally you will also have experience of collecting and preparing data for presenting in reports.

You must have a relational approach to team work, with good attention to detail and time management/prioritisation skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot.

You must be confident in liaising with external bodies or providers and comfortable with questioning or challenging information, if necessary, in a courteous and professional manner.

And finally, but equally as important although you will not be working directly with our residents, you will have plenty of opportunities for interacting with them (something we actively encourage), so a positive attitude towards people who are experiencing mental health difficulties, and a willingness to work alongside them in a friendly and supportive way is essential.

**What Are the Rewards?**
- We offer 28 days paid annual leave for the first year of employment (including bank holidays). This increases annually by 1 day, up to a maximum of 33 days. (Both figures are pro rata’d for part time employees)
- We offer a company pension scheme from month three, with increasing employer contributions after the first year of eligibility.
- Our comprehensive benefits package, includes health insurance (for you and qualifying family members), a Blue Light discount card and company sick pay (following successful completion of probation).
- We actively support and encourage our employees’ development, with a variety of in-house and externally provided training options.
- Free on-site parking.

**Who are Crossways Community?**

We are a growing Tunbridge Wells based Christian charity, with a passion to see better mental health in our community.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of spiritual belief, we simply expect that those in our community will always treat each other with kindness and respect.

Crossways has a proven track record in providing residential care and support for adults with acute mental health issues, giving residents valuable life skills and work experience, and promoting awareness of mental health issues within schools, churches and the local community.

We provide moral and practical support to those in our care, helping individuals to access the services they need, as well as facilitating activities with the aim of recognising potential, encouraging independence, and promoting self-worth.

Our community projects include a successful café, “The Kitchen Table” in the centre of Tunbridge Wells, “Reboot” our mental health awareness programmes and the recently launched “Flourish Gardening Project” in Rusthall.
