We are looking for people who are experienced commercial professionals with a background in either sourcing or contract management. You will become part of an effective delivery team and wider MOD Commercial function, which shall present opportunities for training and experiences leading to personal and professional development.

Disposals are the in-house DIO Estates team responsible for disposing of MOD land and property. The team leads on extensive pipeline of sites for disposal, working with local planning authorities and key stakeholders to maximise the land’s potential prior to sale. The current Programme of sites in progress for disposal will generate Sales Receipts of circa £2Bn.

**Locations**

Our Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) Commercial Teams are based across the UK including Andover, Whittington and Glasgow.

If found successful, you will be offered one or more of the above locations as your base office. You will be required to work from this specific office on a hybrid basis, therefore you must consider if any of the above locations are within a reasonable traveling distance before applying.

**Person specification**:

- Develop collaborative relationships with suppliers, clients, and other key stakeholders with a principal objective of influencing and guiding them with the aim of achieving optimal cost and performance in a commercially compliant manner
- Following successful placement of contracts, lead on the Contract management of the SPA and SETA contracts
- Provide commercial advice and mentorship to stakeholders, including Senior Civil Servants in MOD
- Be accountable to the Assistant Head for any commercial activity you undertake
- Line management of Commercial Officers, including being responsible for staff development, mentoring & support. Ensuring all mandatory and role specific training is undertaken

**Essential Criteria**:

- CIPS level 4 or willing to study to achieve this level within 2 years of joining
- Ability to undertake travel in the UK which on occasion may involve overnight trips
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distil and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data
- Experience in Stakeholder Management
- Experience in Staff Management
