ISIS organises a wide variety of events such as user meetings, public engagement activities, staff events, and conferences and workshops, varying from short, several-hour events to those held over a few days. Over recent years, the number and frequency of events organised by ISIS has increased, along with the desire for these events to be well-organised and professionally run. Over the next 18 months, ISIS will have a variety of events to mark its 40th anniversary, as well as there being a RAL-wide open week in summer 2024, on top of normal activities. We require someone who can support the organisation of these events, working with existing staff to ensure that they are well-delivered.

This is a 2-year fixed-term post to support events within the ISIS Neutron & Muon Source particularly over the 40th anniversary period.

**List of duties**
- Assisting with planning, management and coordination of events, normally under the overall event owner.
- Helping with pre-event organisation and practicalities such as room bookings, attendee management, catering liaison, room setup, etc.
- Supporting events on the day
- Liaison with external organisations if events are being held off-site
- Keeping key people informed of progress in organising an event
- Other activities associated with ISIS events as required.
- Contacts and communications

The post-holder will be within the ISIS professional services team which provides support across a wide range of ISIS activities. The line manager for the post will be the leader of the professional services team, and the post-holder will be expected to support team activities in general. The post-holder will need to build relationships across the facility with the wide range of staff involved in organising and helping to run events. In particular, many events are organised by the public engagement team with which there will be regular working.
