An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Hepatology nursing team at Nottingham University Hospital trust, for an education coordinator who is enthusiastic, motivated, organised and keen to develop a new service.

We are looking for an autonomous worker who can support our nurse specialist education lead in developing a new education program for our Hepatology patients.

The nursing team is made up of 8 specialise nurses and 2 support staff, delivering care to wide variety of patients with liver conditions.

Currently education programmes are delivered by this team to various staff groups within the care setting. Going forward the nurse lead will develop a programme of education to be delivered to our patient groups.

Main duties of the job

This is a new role which will continue to develop, there for the post holder must be flexible and willing to adapt within the role.
- Develop and maintain a waiting list for learners wishing to access liver training courses.
- Develop and maintain patient contact list for new education program.

- course organisation, admin, classroom bookings etc.
- Data collection
- Development of IT to support education programmes.
- Communication with patients and other departments.

We each have our own specific areas/roles within the team but collaborate to cover the service for our patients as needed.

Education is a high focus within the hepatology team and we deliver two inhouse liver courses each year and additional adhoc training to various staff groups.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will manage staff access to training programmes via waiting list database and inform staff of course availability. Facilitate course delivery working with education lead nurse to secure class rooms, speakers and subsequence admin.

To support the education nurse lead to design and implement bespoke patient education events and programmes. Collection and presentation of data.

Where appropriate liaise with patients to allow access to education programme and relay information to patients with the support of the Hepatology nursing team.

Liaise with other departments including external organisation to raise awareness of programmes and to liaise with other health professionals to assist in programme delivery.

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Educated to at least 4 GCSEs, Grade C or above including Maths and English or equivalent A Level/NVQ 3 in Business & Admin or equivalent experience

- Previous experience in project management.
