Job overview
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Testing and Treatment Coordinator. The post holder will support the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Nurse Specialist team which currently delivers care for hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) and Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) patients. Working alongside Pharmacy colleagues, Project and Data Managers as well as numerous external staffing groups, this is an exciting opportunity to improve patient care and pathways for hepatitis C patients in various settings from addictions service and prisons to primary care and beyond
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for identification of people/groups who would benefit from HCV testing and/or curative treatment for the Nottingham Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network (ODN) contributing to the achievement of NHS England’s ambition to be the first country in the world to eliminate hepatitis C.
The post holder, alongside the Hepatitis Network Coordinator, will also assist the nursing team engage and monitor patients with hepatitis B.

Essential criteria
- GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English
- Evidence of continuing professional/personal development
Desirable criteria
- Training in motivational interviewing
- Vocationally based education.
- Level 4 qualifications or substantial equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial NHS experience
- Experience of health promotion and harm reduction across diverse communities
- Knowledge of health inequalities
- Experience of working with service users with complex needs
- Excellent IT skills, Competent in Microsoft Office; including Word and Excel Databases.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of developing training materials
- Experience of working with patients with hepatitis C, liver disease or drug dependence.
- Knowledge and understanding of viral hepatitis.
- Ability to manage own caseload
- Ability to extract and analyse data to deliver outcomes
Communication
Essential criteria
- Able to develop close links with the Viral Hepatitis and Hepatology teams in Nottinghamshire
- Experience of working innovatively both as an individual and in a team.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of motivating and engaging staff
- Able to identify when concerns should be escalated to nursing team
- Excellent time management skills
