Job overview

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Hepatitis Team Clinical Support Worker. The post holder will support the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Nurse Specialist team achieve micro-elimination of hepatitis C at a busy city centre addiction service.

This part-time role is funded by NHS England for 18-months.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for identification of people/groups who would benefit from HCV testing and/or curative treatment for the Nottingham Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network (ODN) contributing to the achievement of NHS England’s ambition to be the first country in the world to eliminate hepatitis C.

This role will be based at a busy addiction service in Nottingham City Centre working alongside an innovative and valued community partnership team and will involve supporting both staff and patients on the journey to micro-elimination of hepatitis C.

Training

Essential criteria
- GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English
- Evidence of continuing professional/personal development

Desirable criteria
- Training in motivational interviewing
- Vocationally based education.
- Level 4 qualifications or substantial equivalent experience

Experience

- Substantial NHS experience
- Experience of health promotion and harm reduction across diverse communities
- Knowledge of health inequalities
- Experience of working with service users with complex needs
- Excellent IT skills, Competent in Microsoft Office; including Word and Excel Databases.

Desirable criteria
- Experience of developing training materials
- Experience of working with patients with hepatitis C, liver disease or drug dependence.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
