We are recruiting within our HR department for a HR Service Desk Advisor.
Main Purpose of Job
To provide a responsive, pragmatic and solutions focused HR Service Desk service, to managers and employees.
To provide highly skilled support to the Head of HR Service Desk, Head of HR and OD and HR Partners.
To ensure all digital and paper records are consistently updated, to ensure good management reporting, planning and decision making.
To build relationships with customers - communicating effectively, demonstrating a solid understanding of the agreed communication processes and associated standards.
Main Duties of Postholder
To escalate, questions, concerns or issues raised by managers and or employees they are unable to answer.
To proactively make recommendations to the HR Service Desk Manager - updates to systems of work, policies, procedures.
To continuously improve the services provided.
To update the Human Resource Management Information System, including new starts, leavers, transfers, promotions, personal details, establishment changes, payroll information.
To produce basic HR reports/management information as and when requested by the HR Service Desk Manager.
To provide admin support for the recruitment campaigns, including interviewing/onboarding/induction
To support the HR Partner/HR Service Desk Manager, in the delivery of the corporate induction process.
To provide events management/admin support to internal and external facilitators/trainers/presenters.
To lead the implementation/embedding and activation of digital learning experiences - creating engagement and active participation.
To produce contracts and amendments to contracts.
To provide project and admin support to the Head of HR and OD, HR Partners as and when required.
To create and maintain case files for the Head of HR and OD, HR Partners and HR Service Desk Manager.
To create and maintain employee files, ensuring confidentiality, safe guarding all employee data, paper and digital in line with GDPR and best practice.
To communicate regularly and efficiently with managers and employees, ensuring everyone has the information they need to be effective.
To induct and train new colleagues.
To quality check Grade B colleagues work before passing to the HR Partners or HR Service Desk Manager for approval.
To support various committees and working groups.
Person Specification
Education/Experience/Skills
Essential
Understanding of employment law and best practice
Responsive, proactive and engaged
Minimum of 3 years experience in HR
At least 1 years experience in a service desk environment, including a service desk digital system
Experience of a customer service environment
Part CIPD qualified or equivalent experience and evidence of continuous professional development
Entry level member of the CIPD
Digitally competent, including medium level skills in MS Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Experience of Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS), including the production of reports
Track record in advising and coaching managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and processes, well developed communication skills, including the ability to explain key information clearly and succinctly
Proven track record in achieving outcomes and working to agreed standards and within agreed timescales and budgets
Ability to train and induct new colleagues
A natural team player
Ability to persuade and influence
Demonstrates ownership and responsibility at all times
Self starter, enable to organise/prioritise workload, focus and take initiative when required
Sound judgment, knows how to make good decisions
High levels of engagement and passion for HR
Desirable
CIPD qualified, Chartered member of the CIPD
Advanced level MS Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Basic project management skills
