CLINCIAL SKILLS / SIMULATION TECHNICAL LEAD

Hampshire Hospitals is looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to join their Undergraduate medical student Team in a new role which combines the practical component of setting up training rooms with equipment for a wide variety of clinical skills and helping facilitate SIM sessions for medical students and junior Doctors.

This is a unique opportunity to develop this important role, make a difference to undergraduate teaching, be involved in planning sessions and work alongside a dynamic and friendly Team. Some experience in SIM is preferred, but training will be given, if required.

Hampshire Hospitals provides Clinical Placements to Southampton, Grenadian and St George’s medical students. We also work closely with Physician Associate programme Leads and host International and UK Elective Placements.

This role will be 4 days a week / negotiable and based at Winchester in the Education Centre. There will be some requirement to work across sites between Winchester and Basingstoke.

Setting up rooms with clinical skills equipment for a variety of clinical skills sessions

Supporting the medical students and junior Doctors with SIM sessions.

Ordering supplies and consumables for skills sessions

planning organisation and managing own workload independantly

We are a small core team of about 16 individuals who work with Southampton medical students from Year 1 to Year 5. Providing both Clinical Placements and a wide range of Clinical Skills Training. Our team is comprised of nurses and doctors and we are all passionate about medical education and providing a supportive learning environment. We also work closely with many other healthcare Professionals who provide teaching, supervision and support for all our students.
