TristoneNash are pleased to be working with a South Wales based Housing Association to appoint a Strategy, Performance and Risk Officer for this full-time, permanent opportunity, offering agile and flexible working and access to a Local Government PensionScheme (employer contributing 17%).

This position will play a key role in supporting the Strategy, Performance and Risk team in co-ordination, planning and administration of the association’s approach to strategy formulation, corporate planning, risk management, internal audit, performancereporting, policy review and statutory/regulatory returns.
- Commercially minded and committed to compliance with applicable legislation and regulation.
- Experience of a strategy, planning, risk and assurance co-ordination role within a similar sized organisation and working with multi-disciplined teams.
- Experience of supporting and developing a coaching culture.
- Experience of analytical skills, to support strong problem solving and decision-making abilities at both operational and corporate level.
- Experience of supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies, frameworks, and policies.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Support the Strategy, Performance and Risk team in delivering an effective strategic planning framework by co-ordinating the collation of the team plans and assist in the production and reporting formats of the association’s strategic and corporate plans.
- Responsible for maintaining the strategic planning framework and risk register information on the reporting portal to ensure it remains relevant and up to date.
- Support the development and maintenance of strategic planning framework templates and guidance notes to ensure that current and potential new managers are aware of expectations and performance reporting requirements.
- Support the co-ordination of quarterly performance reporting against strategic priorities for board, leadership team, directorate and team performance summits.
- Responsible on maintaining and assurance reporting to the leadership team on the policy register for the association and support policy owners with templates and guidance in the development/reviewing of policies and undertaking impact assessments to ensurepolicies remain complaint with relevant legislation.
- Support the risk and assurance business partner to administer the association’s risk register, liaising with risk owners, keeping the register updated with risk assessments by collating their responses and making this available to colleagues across theassociation.
- Provide the co-ordination and support for managers in undertaking risk reviews to identify and assess risks and the necessary controls to mitigate those risks.
- Support the strategy and risk business partner to administer the internal audit programme: liaising with internal auditors support with the smooth running of internal audit.
- Responsible for the co-ordination of the annual internal audit activities from scheduling meetings, organising the audits with leads, chasing up action responses and supporting the production of the audit and risk committee reports. Assist in identifyingthe emerging themes arising from internal audits to inform analysis of data to support continuous performance improvement.
- Support the Risk and Assurance Business Partner in the annual effectiveness review of internal audit by co-ordinating the questionnaire process and undertake the analysis of responses.
- Support the association’s environmental sustainability strategic commitment by co-ordinating the data gathering of the carbon assessment activities, the development and monitoring of the delivery plan and in producing the annual performance report.
- Assist in the work with partner agencies including other HAs, specialist support groups and community groups to share best practice.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a centralised database for all statutory and regulatory returns and where required assist in the co-ordination of such returns to ensure effective collaboration in the association’s response.
