Can you take responsibility for ensuring that all donations received at our UK central office in London, are banked in line with regulated practices? We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, charity minded individual to join our income processing team based in London. It’s an important role, especially at times of emergency when we need to ensure that we get the money to where it is needed as quickly as possible.

We receive donations from supporters or organisations who have raised money in aid of the British Red Cross by organising or participating in events, donating in memory of loved ones or collections in churches or schools. In this role you will be responsible for processing these donations, ensuring that they are banked, data captured and acknowledged in line with tight deadlines and bespoke fulfilment requirements. As post-holder you will manage a variety of income streams, campaigns and third-party payment platforms, working collaboratively with the regional fundraising to effectively manage income and data in accordance with reconciliation and auditing requirements.
To do this effectively you will need to build strong relationships with colleagues in our Regional Fundraising team to understand their business requirements and systems they use to generate funds. You will collaboratively review data and procedures to identify areas of waste activity and make recommendations for improvement, continually looking to create efficiencies across inter-departmental processes.

**A day in the life of a **Income Processing Officer** will involve**:

- Opening, batching, and banking donations as part of our Fundraising Operations Team
- Dealing with payment queries and raising concerns in line with our serious incidents policy
- Maintain contact and organisation records, ensuring good levels of data hygiene and data standards, particularly in relation to data protection when handling both physical and digital data
- Handle and process complex donation requests, from schools, local organisations, and in Memoriam donations accordingly and with sensitivity where appropriate
- Review all donations captured regionally to ensure they meet our internal processing standards and adjust or reverse when appropriate,
- Manage gifts effectively so that we maximise gift aid, whilst at the same time mitigating risk in respect of donations that do not qualify for tax relief through a clear and comprehensive knowledge of Gift Aid

**Income Processing Officer**
**you’ll need**:

- Experience using CRM databases, particularly data processing
- Experience of using Excel at a good level
- Experience of collaborating with cross-departmental teams
- Experience of working in a fundraising or charity finance (desirable)
- Experience of working with Fundraising 3rd party platforms (desirable)
