I am currently recruiting on behalf of one of West Sussex's most influential providers of Domiciliary Care
We are seeking new Care Assistants to join our amazing team and allow us to provide high levels of care to more to more individuals in need
If you have previous experience in home care or community care we want to speak with you
**Duties**:
- Assist residents with daily tasks such as washing, dressing, and eating
- Support residents with mobility around their home
- Engage residents in social activities and outings
- Maintain accurate care records and assist in developing care plans
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team
- Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and reporting
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting
- Valid driving licence to assist with client transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Compassionate and patient demeanour
- Understanding of care plans and resident needs
Overview:
A domiciliary care worker is a professional who provides in-home support to clients, allowing them to maintain their independence. The care provided varies depending on each client's needs, ranging from brief visits to hours of daily assistance. Services may be temporary for recovery periods or long-term for chronic conditions. Some workers also offer overnight care for those needing round-the-clock support.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Personal Care: Assist clients with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating, with sensitivity to their dignity.
2. Household Support: Aid with household tasks like laundry, cleaning, and maintenance to ensure a safe and clean-living environment.
3. Transportation and Escorting: Accompany clients to medical appointments and social activities, providing transport or arranging it.
4. Health Monitoring and Medication: Administer medications following guidelines and monitor clients’ health, reporting any changes.
5. Meal Preparation and Nutrition: Prepare and serve meals according to clients’ dietary needs and assist with feeding if required.
6. Companionship and Engagement: Provide companionship through conversation and activities, keeping clients mentally and emotionally engaged.
7. Errands and Shopping: Run errands like shopping and bill payments on behalf of clients.
8. Family Interaction: Communicate with clients’ families to provide updates and engage them in the care process.
**Work Variety**:
One day you might assist a client with mobility challenges, while another day might involve caring for someone with dementia, highlighting the variety of this role.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
