We now have an exciting new role for an outstanding Education Administration Coordinator. Reporting to the Schools Engagement Manager, the Education Administration Coordinator will provide administrative support across the Conservation Education and Engagement Directorate. This role will also provide line management support to our administration and bookings team and oversee the day-to-day function of the education booking service for schools, colleges and universities.

**We’re looking for someone who can**:

- Provide comprehensive administrative support across the department, including organising and taking minutes of meetings, organisation of travel and diary management for Managers, oversight of directorate procurement.
- Support the Bookings and Admin Assistant to take bookings for approximately 130,000 education visitors per annum, and around 80,000 outreach participants, co-ordinating processes and ensure excellence in customer service.
- Take bookings for and answer queries about directorate events, supporting the conservation education and engagement directorate with logistics, such as room bookings, catering, sourcing, and booking venues and accommodation, finding freelancers, and liaising with participants.
- Liaise with a variety of different zoo teams to ensure a smooth and efficient bookings service for school, college, community, and junior programme bookers.
- Support the Director of Conservation Education and directorate managers to accurately report on directorate activity and ensure that communications channels, such as the website, are kept up to date.
- Support the recruitment and training of staff across the directorate as appropriate, including delivering inductions, arranging introductory meetings and helping new staff to orientate themselves.
- Manage and motivate the Bookings and Admin Assistant, providing all aspects of line management support and managing performance as required. Follow policies, standard operating procedures, and safe working practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and legislation, in particular supporting directorate with data asset management and GDPR compliance (following guidance from the Information Governance Manager).

**The Package**
- Permanent Contract
- Working Hours - 35 Hours per week. Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm.
- Salary - £23,176.14 per annum

**Our Requirements - Education Administration Coordinator**
- Significant administration experience gained working in a busy environment, ideally within a visitor attraction or similar public facing organisation.
- Experience of taking minutes at meetings, producing confidential notes/minutes, organising diaries and events.
- Good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise your work in a busy environment
- Experience of working with budgets and compiling financial information for reporting.
- Interest in Chester Zoo’s mission relating to Conservation Education
- Qualified to A-level, with a pass in GCSE English and Maths as a minimum
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and an understanding of data protection
- Being a confident communicator, working well in a team as well as working proactively under their own initiative

**Although not essential, the following would be desirable**:

- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and wider education climate in schools.
