**Role responsibilities**

To develop and lead on the delivery of an ambitious, prioritised programme of active travel infrastructure projects as part of a national multi-disciplinary team to enhance active travel infrastructure delivery.
- Lead, develop, manage and oversee effective delivery of an active travel programme by working as part of a central national resource and engaging closely with Transport for Wales’s (TfW’s) wider Active Travel Team to enhance and accelerate delivery of active travel opportunities on the local authority Active Travel Network Maps (ATNMs), Strategic Road Network (SRN) and wider Metro programmes.
- Develop and oversee a programme of strategic schemes that impact on or support delivery of local authority Active Travel Network Maps by collaborating with local authorities to deliver Station Network Plans and ensure appropriate liaison in respect of trunk road major projects and trunk road interfaces.
- Provide quality assurance and monitoring of schemes by working with TfW’s active travel and design teams to support delivery of Metro Programmes, local authority ATNMs and approved WG’s SRN Programme.
- Develop schemes and programmes in line with the WelTAG process and ensure schemes meet appropriate design standards, including the Active Travel Act Guidance and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges to, helps satisfy requirements of key legislation and guidance.

**Who we’re looking for**
- Senior project/programme management experience.
- Experience of delivering strategic programmes, including evidence of taking account of relevant legislative and policy frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships, collaborating and communicating with a wide range of colleagues, customers and stakeholders to deliver a range of successful outcomes.
- Experience of managing budgets, including forecasting and achieving value for money.
- An understanding of the Active Travel (Wales) Act

**Welsh Language Skills**

Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills.
