Data Quality and Training Lead

This post supports the medical directorates within the MAPS Care Group. These are Diabetes and Endocrinology (D&E), Gastroenterology and Hepatology (G&H) and Respiratory Medicine. The MAPS Care Group is overseen by the Operations Director (OD) and Nurse Director (ND) and each of the medical specialities is led by a Clinical Director (CD) and a Service Manager (SM).
This post is part of the MAPS Programme Management Office (PMO) Team led by one of two Deputy Operations Directors (DODs). The Data Quality and Training Lead will work closely with the SMs and their administrative and clerical (A&C) teams in each of the directorates as well as with the clinical teams.
You will lead a small team which is uniquely positioned to support the clinical services of a large Care Group. The team provides regular review, analysis and processing of daily generated data quality reports as well as working on projects to support services by focusing on improved processes, recording, reporting and maintenance of accurate data.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 24 months. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.

Data Quality
Lead the Data Quality Team in delivering the data quality agenda, working collaboratively with the Trust’s central Information Services team.
Work closely with MAPS MDTs to understand, document and prioritise data quality improvements.
Support the MAPS MDTs in developing and implementing efficient and effective operational processes for data capture.
Support the MAPS services to maximise Trust income by supporting accurate, timely and comprehensive recording of data.
Provide advice on data quality performance indicators and assist in addressing identified areas of concern.
Assist in building clinical confidence in MAPS data for performance management purposes.
Support the implementation of improvement projects across MAPS, developing and adopting new sustainable solutions to ensure effective and measurable improvements in data quality.
Provide timely and accurate information to managers in a format that is readily understood and relevant to the decision making process.
Provide expert knowledge and guidance to operational and corporate teams in relation to the patient pathway and related data capture.
Keep fully up-to-date with national and Trust projects and developments in order to understand the impact of changes at local level.
Ensure a timely and accurate response to any queries, both internal and external.
Build and maintain a productive working relationship with operational and corporate team colleague.
Represent the Data Quality Team at meetings as required.
Identify, monitor and report on data quality issues.
Training
Develop and deliver training sessions for MAPS A&C team members across the three directorates, responding to end-user questions and ensuring competency and confidence.
Evaluate the training of each individual and if further training needs are identified arrange further training and report back to managers.
Escalate to management any concerns regarding individual performance, knowledge/capabilities as regards 18 week pathways or data quality.
Assist in leading the development, implementation and evaluation of new training materials/approaches.
Develop and maintain user manuals and guidance notes for to ensure that the information being issued to end-users is accurate.
Acknowledge and appreciate the pressures that operational A&C team members are working under and work sensitively and collaboratively to make improvements to processes and data quality.
Ensure consistency across the services by implementing generic processes wherever appropriate and feasible, including methods for identifying and ensuring that necessary steps are taken.
Continually assess and improve training in accordance with user and Trust needs.
Liaise with the central training teams to coordinate training offers and share best practice.
The post will develop and will need to incorporate other duties to meet the changing needs of the organisation and these changes will be agreed between the post holder and their line manager.
