The Records Department provides support Trust wide for both Health and Social Care records and corporate records. Duties include records related support within clinical systems, ensuring records are archived appropriately. The main duties are around managing all Subject Access requests which come into the Trust and supporting with the FOI function when necessary.

You will need to have the following key skills and experience;
- A good knowledge of the SAR code of practice and a general knowledge of DPA 2018.
- experience of working to tight deadlines
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- experience working in a records environment

The vacancy is due to the retirement of a existing member of the team.

The post holder will support the Head of Information Governance and Records Management and work with teams internally, and external to the Trust in providing a comprehensive records service.
- Reviewing patient records, using initiative to identify contentious third party information, to advise the appropriate clinician and gain consent from that clinician when necessary on the principles of Subject Access requests as per the DPA 2018.
- The post holder will be responsible for processing archiving requests and providing guidance to staff within the Trust regarding the storage process, including how to upload the information needed and advise on appropriate retention periods.
- The post holder will be responsible for auditing clinical documents scanned by users into Rio for quality and accuracy, amending any errors where necessary and advising clinicians/admin staff of those errors
- The Post holder will be responsible for covering the Freedom of Information requests as directed by the Records Manager. This will involve coordinating requests received for information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and ensure that full compliance with Freedom of Information legislation is adhered to by the Trust.
