**Hours**:
12-16 hours per week

**Shift Pattern**:
3-5 hour shifts between 06:00am-17:00pm over 3-4 days. Must be flexible

**Salary**:
Dependent on age

**Experience**:
Post Office - Extremely vital to have had at least a years worth of experience on the Horizon system, customer service and cash handling. However, voluntarily commitment to learn in your own time over a two week probationary period can be offered.

Retail - Experience not necessary although eagerness to learn the till system is required. It is also important to have worked within a customer based environment.

Please note; the shift timings on the Post Office side are either morning or afternoon Mon-Fri 09:00-13:00 or 13:00-17:00 and on Saturdays 09:00-12:30. Sundays are closed.

The shift timings on the Retail side start from 06:00-09:00, 09:00-13:00 or 13:00-17:00 Mon-Sat and 07:00-Midday on Sundays.

**Key Tasks/Responsibilities**:

- Provide a pleasant and efficient service to customers, visitors and colleagues
- Maintain employee and organisational confidentiality
- Comply with mail regulations and procedures
- Able to work well under pressure during busy periods
- Provide general assistance to the public in a professional and polite manner
- Use the horizon system to deal with accounts, sales and keep records of transactions
- Demonstrate capability of working independently and as a member of a team
- Able to handle cash accurately and confidently
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards

**Requirements**:

- Proven working experience in a Post Office and retail outlet
- Proficient in English and have proficient numeracy and literacy skills
- Having a helpful and engaging nature at all times
- Flexible approach to working hours especially when holiday cover is needed
- Previous cash handling experience is vital
- Knowledge on how to cash up and forecast end of day reports is preferred
