This post is based within Training and Skills Unit (TASU) that sits in the new Operational Capabilities Command. TASU has responsibility for the delivery and co-ordination of operational enforcement along with other training nationally within Crime and Enforcement teams.

TASU is a national resource responsible for operational enforcement training and operating procedures. Work is high profile and the role is currently engaged on delivering priority workstreams under the Prime Ministers 10 point plan and the Illegal Migration Bill (IMB). It is extremely varied and includes working with other areas of TASU leads on the sharing of knowledge, skills, safety and best practices through training.

This is a growing team and has recently been split from a wider Operational Safety and Wellbeing role, due to the increasing demands on the team. It covers all Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST) courses for ECC. This includes initial and refresher courses, bespoke learning, specialist training such as Method of Entry and Aviation Custodial Training. This may be expanded or changed from time to time to meet business needs and to support ministerial priorities.

This is a national role and you can be based in Apollo House, Croydon CR9 3RR, or Moorfield Leeds LS19 7YA where a lot of our training currently takes place or another IE office depending on available desk spaces. However, frequent attendance to Croydon/Leeds and other locations will still be required.

Due to business requirements this post is for a full time position only.

**Responsibilities**:

- To Head up a team of experienced and professionally qualified Public and Personal Safety Trainers, HMIs and a logístical support team.
- To ensure the team has sufficient resources to deliver on demands by overseeing the scheduling of courses, trainers and accommodation to ensure we can deliver for the business, flagging up risks and putting appropriate mitigation in place. Also to manage the usage of AHW hours and to ensure capability of the team remains current and credible.
- To liaise with College of Policing to ensure we maintain our license and to attend relevant meetings to keep up to date with CoP practice and course developments and opportunities.
- To develop great stakeholder working relationships with Border Force to ensure we can work together wherever possible and to share resources (such as venues), knowledge and capabilities. In particular to ensure full involvement in an estates project for shared venues.
- To work with the TASU Learning Hub to achieve a permanent estates portfolio for PPST and MOE delivery, to ensure we develop an effective performance management system, and to assist the wider TASU portfolios such as supporting the new project for Scenario Based Training to incorporate into Business as Usual by tight deadlines.
- To work with Health, Safety and Wellbeing in OCC to ensure our training complies with RAs and SSofW and that any accidents or injuries on courses are reported promptly so any required RIDOR referrals can be made in a timely manner.
- To work with TASU SLT and the OCC SLT to ensure we are able to meet our wider objectives.
- To undertake any other roles required and to lean across teams to support when needed.
