**Job summary**:
- Home Office Intelligence brings together a number of existing teams involved in the collection and analysis of border and immigration related intelligence. It delivers Intelligence Collection, Development, Analysis, Targeting (Data Analytics) and Watchlisting capabilities within the Home Office and to its partners across Government and Law Enforcement. The Operational Intelligence Units (OIUs) are part of Home Office Intelligence. OIUs include operational and non-operational staff who develop intelligence products to protect vulnerable people and communities while reducing the illegal population and the harm that it causes.
**Responsibilities**
- Recording and initially processing all information and intelligence entering or generated by the team and ensuring that it is handled and stored appropriately in line with legislation and the Immigration Intelligence Manual standards.
- Researching and retrieving information and intelligence from relevant sources as directed to inform decision making surrounding the identification of threat and the assessment of risk.
- Undertaking intelligence research on Home Office systems.
- Capturing additional intelligence from partners using established legal gateways.
- Researching open source and commercial databases as directed.
- Recording and presenting findings in a common format to the required standard.
- Producing intelligence reports where required.
- Creating packages for tactical activity.
- Completing and updating all relevant databases ensuring a high level of data quality across all systems.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and effective running of the intelligence team.
- Participating in Intelligence team meetings.
- Ensuring that intelligence gaps and new patterns of abuse are quickly and accurately reported to the Intelligence Manager to inform the annual and monthly Threat Assessments.
- Creating and maintaining accurate and up to date performance and activity records.
- Maintaining good working relationships by engaging with both internal and external partners.
- Keeping the Intelligence Manager informed of operational activity and performance.
- Contributing to the business support function e.g. file tracking, vehicle management, procurement, IT requests etc.

**Essential criteria**
- Experience of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with good attention to detail.
- The ability to work flexibly to meet business needs.
- Ability to use multiple sources of information for research and analysis.
**Desirable criteria**
- Experience of working in an intelligence environment and/or law enforcement.
- Ability to demonstrate a good working level of IT proficiency in basic tools such as word, excel and power point.
