If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Children's Support Worker.
Join a dynamic team to create a safe and nurturing environment for children who require additional support due to their backgrounds. As a Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in their lives, helping them to overcome their emotional and behavioural difficulties.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or abuse.
- Help children develop appropriate coping mechanisms and manage challenging and sometimes aggressive behaviours.
- Create and implement individualized plans to address the specific needs of each child.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities, including play therapy, art therapy, and cognitive-behavioural interventions.
- Build positive relationships with the children, their families, and their support networks.
- Monitor and record the progress and behaviours of each child, providing regular feedback to the team.
You will need
- Strong knowledge of working with with vulnerable children of various backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, their families, and the wider team.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and educators.
- Empathy, patience, and self-confidence to handle challenging behaviours and situations.
- Be fully flexible to work to a rota which will include a 16 hour shifts with a sleep in 2 to 3 times per week.
