Administration Officer

You will need the ability to prioritise a demanding and varied workload, performing all of Amicus’ key administrative duties to a high standard.

This is a full-time role working in a hybrid pattern, with three days working from home and two based in our central London office (Thursday and Friday). The core hours are 10am to 6pm (incl. one hour for lunch) from Monday to Friday. On occasion, evening and weekend work is required to supervise events programme. We are a small team, and everyone pitches in to assist each other when necessary. The role’s direct line report is to the Director, but it is supervised on a day-to-day basis by the Casework & Operations Manager. The role also has day-to-day supervision responsibility for the office volunteers.
- NB: If training is required for any of the key responsibilities it will be provided._

**Key Responsibilities**:

- All day-to day-office administration: including, inter alia:

- First point of contact for general enquiries.
- Assisting with the running of biannual death penalty training and fundraising and awareness-raising events.
- Casework: logístical support; keeping database up-to-date.
- Journal: managing mailing list and subscriptions.
- Newsletter: preparing the campaign online, editing articles and sending out to our members (digitally).
- Office volunteers: day-to-day supervision of UK-based volunteers (who support this role’s administrative duties). In time, recruit and train new volunteers.
- Finance: data entry and updates using Salesforce and Excel programmes.
- Student group programme: point of contact for existing student reps, keeping resources updated, recruiting new students reps.
- Website: updates as required.
- Assisting the Director and Casework & Operations Manager with ad hoc tasks and work as required.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Ability to prioritise a demanding and varied workload.
- Social media experience and strong attention to detail.
- Experience of events production.
- Experience of fundraising drives.
- Understanding of charity administration.
- Keen to be part of a small, committed team with a willingness to assist colleagues in all areas of the charity’s work when necessary.
- High level of IT skills, experience of Excel a necessity and the ability to learn new processes; we use Microsoft Office programmes, Salesforce, Canva and Mailchimp in particular.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to human rights.
