High Intensity Therapist

This is an exciting new role supporting those in a foreign national prison with their mental health. The post holder will be able to undertake assessment for and provide appropriate interventions and therapy. The post holder would work within the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT), who hold an essential, well-respected role within the prison. Their excellent practice was highlighted in the recent HMIP report.
The main role is to provide therapeutic interventions for those in custody. The post holder would conduce assessment of need provide the required intervention. There are ample opportunities to collaborate with the wider Oxford Health NHS Trust, which have facilities in hospitals and in the community, in addition to prison settings.
Oxford Health NHS Trust offer supervision from skilled supervisors and managers, with the opportunity to learn to become a supervisor yourself. We provide staff with a relevant CPD and training in trauma-based therapies, such as EMDR, or Narrative Exposure Therapy

As a qualified Therapist, the post holder will support those who require Step 3 care, offering face-to-face assessment and treatment sessions, and facilitating group therapy sessions. You will also have opportunity to actively participate in different projects and workstreams within the Oxford Health NHS Trust.
In addition, the post holder would provide consultation to the wider IMHT and advise on appropriate interventions.
