This position is a senior clinical role within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, holistic care to newborns and their families.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical care and management for infants and their families admitted to the NICU. This will include working independently on the tier 1 rota, under the supervision of the middle grade neonatal doctor and neonatal consultants.

Clinical Responsibilities

The main duties of this role will include:

  • Working independently on the tier 1 rota, under the supervision of the middle grade neonatal doctor and neonatal consultants.
  • Carrying out assessments of infants on the postnatal wards, including first medical examinations. Performing formal discharge examinations and determining whether a baby is fit for discharge.
  • Attending high-risk deliveries for the resuscitation, stabilisation and safe transfer of newborn infants.
  • Working with the multidisciplinary team to provide expert clinical care and management for infants and their families admitted to the NICU, using advanced skills in accordance with unit guidelines and protocols.

Salary Information

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
