About the Role

We are seeking a qualified psychological therapist to join our team of professionals working in perinatal community services in Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire. The successful applicant will work within an established and experienced multidisciplinary team to provide psychological intervention to service users within the Parent and Baby Service and the Lotus Maternal Mental Health Service.

Main Duties

The Parent and Baby Day Service is a specialist perinatal secondary mental health service. The team provides a comprehensive service of high intensity with customized treatments for parents with psychological disorders associated with pregnancy and childbirth. Psychology is well integrated, valued, and respected by the team.

Lotus provides support for women and their families who are looking for help with their mental health which has been significantly affected by pregnancy loss, tokophobia, birth trauma, or trauma in a neonatal care setting. This service is psychology-led and includes specialist midwifery within the multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Accreditation at degree level in a recognized and appropriate psychological therapy, e.g. AND/OR recognized professional registration such as NMC (Nursing Midwifery Council) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Experience

Essential
  • Significant experience, prior to appointment, of providing short-term psychological interventions to adult clients with complex needs - either as a registered professional or as a therapist within a related statutory/non-statutory organization.
Knowledge

Essential
  • Highly skilled in recognizing the psychological, social, and health needs of the client group.
