We’re looking for a Children & Young People (CYP) Inclusion & Belonging Officer to join our central People’s Directorate in a part-time capacity for 6 months, from mid-September until the end of February 2024.

You will work alongside our other part-time CYP Inclusion & Belonging Officer in enabling the Trust's national CYP ambition and our wider Everyone Welcome strategy as a member of the central Inclusion & Belonging team.

Ideally the role will be 22.5 hours across 3 days but we are happy to consider 15 hours across 2 days if needed.

What it's like to work here:Our central Inclusion & Belonging team are focussed on our Everyone Welcome strategic ambition - to make the trust more inclusive and welcoming to all. Within this context, you will champion engagement with children and young people aged under 25. You’ll be managed by the CYP Engagement Lead and will work closely with the wider Inclusion & Belonging team.

The Inclusion & Belonging Team is part of the People's Directorate, working within the wider People Engagement team. The role will require attending and contributing to wider People’s Directorate, People Engagement and Inclusion & Belonging conversations and meetings.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with colleagues and to carry out work.

Beyond the People’s Directorate, you’ll champion engagement with CYP across central directorates, and with operational colleagues across our regions and countries. You’ll be encouraged to connect with and be inspired by external partners, and, vitally, to see opportunities to collaborate directly with young people, including through support of a national internal and external communications plan.

- Experience of project management, including engagement, influencing and building relationships
- Experience in engaging children and young people from diverse communities through a range of approaches
- Working knowledge of inclusion and equality
- Excellent communication skills, including the delivery of presentations to groups
- Ability to coordinate a number of streams of work and manage competing demands
