Recruitment Solutions (NW) are currently working with a client based within Southport, a market-leading foodservice wholesaler, who have been established for over 20 years.

Our client is looking for a motivated Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their dynamic and hardworking Accounts Payable team. Day-today you would be liaising with their suppliers, depots and buyers in resolving any issues and queries with their invoices whilst ensuring that payments are promptly processed in avoiding any disruptions to the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Actioning invoices and credits from suppliers that require manual intervention, which have failed the automatic 3-way matching process.
- Actioning pre-approved invoices received, including those from overseas.
- Managing invoice queries and discrepancies.
- Ensuring all queries are resolved promptly and effectively.
- Assisting in the preparation of the scheduled payment runs, to ensure only valid transactions are paid as per agreed payment terms.
- Developing good relationships with suppliers in assisting with resolving supplier queries.
- Liaising with key stakeholders within the business and communicate issues/ feedback to suppliers.
- Running and distributing reports, as and when required.
- Supporting the management team with adhoc requests, such as audit & UAT.

Essential Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 2 years Accounts Payable experience is required.
- Must have experience of carrying out supplier reconciliations, preferably using excel.
- Must have a good understanding of the purchase order, 3-way process.
- Must have confidence when communicating with suppliers and key contacts within the business.
- Be able to handle difficult supplier accounts.
- To have a proactive approach in dealing with reoccurring supplier queries.
- Able to manage and prioritise own workload.
- A good team player who can work effectively with others.
