**Job summary**:
**About this Role**
The Employee Relations team sits within the wider People and Change function. You will be involved in coaching, supporting, and guiding our leaders and people managers across the organisation, to translate our people policies and procedures into practice. You will be experienced in best and emerging practice in relation to a variety of ER case work and people issues. Advising on and enabling resolution through a fair and consistent process in line with policy and wider employment law.

The post holder is required to remain pragmatic and work in line with Civil Service values and principles, working in close partnership with our Trade Union to ensure all colleagues have an effective voice. It is essential that you remain up to date with employment law changes and understand how this applies to specific cases.

We are looking for someone who is a confident writer and can contribute to reviewing policies and procedures, ensuring they meet statute and align to our organisational culture. You will have a strength in terms of a robust attention to detail and be diligent and pragmatic in terms of conducting policy reviews and progressing case work management.

**Job description**:

- Your main duties will include:
- Manage HR cases individually, appropriately, and effectively in line with RoS policy and wider legislation.
- Escalation point for People Managers to advise on and support more complex cases.
- Produce and consider HR data and statistics regularly to inform progress and drive improvement.
- Monitor HR policies and update, write or introduce new policies in line with legal requirements and developments.
- Promote policies and practices to drive improvements in equity, diversity, and inclusion across RoS.
- Work with senior managers to drive a continuous improvement and high-performance culture, coaching them where required to embed strong performance management capability.
- Work proactively to support leadership and RoS’ recognised trade union (PCS), as part of our formal partnership arrangements.
- Work with HROD and RoS colleagues to ensure a systemic approach is used to deliver people management priorities that support and enables delivery to RoS’ corporate plan.

**Essential criteria - Your Skills and Attributes for Success**

**Technical & Professional**
Proven track record of delivering within an employee relations environment, (ER Casework management e.g., attendance, disciplinary, grievances and performance).
Chartered CIPD membership (working towards or willing to), or other relevant qualification.

**Changing & Improving**
Regularly reviews procedures and policies to make suitable recommendations for change and where applicable, pre-empts the effects changes will have within own team and the wider organisation.

**Analysis & Making Effective Decisions**
Confident in making decisions, even if they may be unpopular
Able to seek out/collate and analyse data, picking out relevant information to assist in decision making process and case resolution

**Collaborating and partnering/Building Capability for All (Engaging People cluster)**
Skilled at building strong relationships within own team and with all relevant stakeholders to provide an excellent service
