We are seeking to appoint a Research Officer on a fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join the BSS Research Office which focuses on the delivery of excellent research support within the College of Business and Social Sciences (BSS).

The post provides high quality administrative support to enhance the research environment for academic staff and postgraduate research students within the College. Under the line management of the Senior Research Manager you will also line manage the Research Support Coordinator and work closely with the Events Manager as part of the BSS Research Office team.

You will have a central role in supporting the College’s research governance structure through acting as secretary to the BSS Research Committee and Research Strategy Forum. You will also work closely with senior staff in the College including the Deputy Dean Research, Associate Deans Research, and Director of Research Degree Programmes. The role also presents the opportunity to support the College’s Departments and Research Centres and you will work closely with the Midlands Graduate School Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) consortium through the role of DTP institutional administrator. Utilising your excellent communication skills you will have the opportunity to build networks across the university, making connections with key professional services departments and liaising with staff at all levels.
